How to do your Avon Returns
Your guide to claiming credit & returning products
Every Representative needs to make returns from time to time, though if you can find any opportunity to resell the products returned by your customers you will retain your discount.
Avon allows you to claim credit for the items you need to return, and then to return the items within 36 days.

The Avon Service Promise
In the event that we are unable to supply an Avon product on time, we will send it automatically, normally with the next order you place after new stock has been delivered; or an alternative product of equivalent or greater value may be offered as a substitute.
When an Avon item is temporarily out of stock
In this situation the invoice will show the product in the section headed ‘Items Unavailable’. It will state – ‘Sorry – temporarily out of stock. Will deliver when available – there is no need to reorder.
When we do supply and invoice it, it will appear in the section items ordered from Campaign xx and charged at the original price.
How to explain out of stock products to your customer
We do our best to anticipate the demand for every product in the Avon brochure, but on occasion we underestimate the popularity of a product, or we may have a manufacturing problem, or be let down by a supplier.

If you have been allocated a territory of streets in your area to call on then you will be selling Avon in the traditional way, door to door.
Depending how long ago there was another Representative in the area and whether customers found her reliable or not, this may influence how you are received when you call.
If you can, when you first drop brochures round to the houses in your area try to introduce yourself to explain that you are the new Representative and that you are just starting up. You may want to ask a few general questions:
- Have they bought Avon before?
- Have they seen the adverts on television?
- Where do they normally buy their cosmetics and toiletries?
