Partners up with Avon Cosmetics

Avon, the company for women, has told West Ham Vice-Chairman, Karren Brady, “you’re hired.” Renowned for her success as a woman in a man’s world during her time as Managing Director of Birmingham City Football Club, the successful businesswoman – and Lord Sugar’s new right hand woman on The Apprentice – has been signed up by the beauty giant to inspire its dynamic force of independent Avon Representatives. The partnership will see mum-of-two Karren take on a mentoring role, drawing on her energy, dynamism and wealth of experience to motivate and mentor Avon Representatives, whilst also sharing business insights and practical advice in order to help the self-employed direct sellers drive and grow their own businesses. Eight years ago Rebekah Testar worried about how her family would cope when her husband was forced to stop work due to hypertension and depression.

But last year her Avon company had a turnover of more than £2 million and she now employs 1,750 people.Rebekah, was walking her daughters to playgroup eight years ago when she was approached by an Avon representative.She was not sure if selling cosmetics was really for her, but she took a brochure and made an appointment to meet with a representative a week later.
