Avon Recruitment fair in bournemouth

In all my years as a sales leader I have taken part in events such as this one.  This recruitment fair was run by the Networking Mummies Group and it was Jo’s 1st event.  Personally I feel it went really well.  I had a few Team Memebers come along and they all got stuck in and chatted to the people that were there to look for further information about finding a new job

Katrina, Soraya, Lisa, and myself had a great time too, we all had our own helpers too which was lovely too.  An extra special thanks to my daughter Libby, she was an absolute star on the evening.  Apart from buying and eating all the cakes she helped with the design and setting up of the table.  Libby was great at helping Lisa and Katrina with their prospecting cards too, so big thanks.xx

As a team we discussed the importance of doing these type of events in their own local communities to gain an awareness that they are the Avon Recruiters in their area.

If and when my sales leader team watch the video and you feel as though you could do something similar, then all the materials you seen on the stand are yours to borrow too.  The Projector, the screen, the products, and the Reese Witherspoon stand.  You have to get yourself recognised in your own community so what’s stopping you!?

Wessex Hotel,

West Cliff Road, Bournemouth

Are you looking for family friendly working? A job that fits in with you and your families needs? Flexible and fun?? Then Networking Mummies Dorset has the event for you!  We have hunted high and low to collate all the people and information you need to take a step forward into developing the best working environment for you and your family.

Organised by Dorset Business Mum of the Year, and mum of 2, Charlie, 3 and Megan 2, Joanne Dewberry is keen to encourage the Mums and Dads of Dorset and Hampshire that flexible working opportunities aren’t a myth.   Working hard to ensure that the Recruitment Fair provides a varied wealth of opportunity including adult training and CV writing from Government initiative Next Steps.

Joanne, 30 from Three Legged Cross says “I’ve always wanted to be a full time mum and developing my own business does not impinge on that.  I think as a mum of 2, with my 3rd due in May I am a prime example that flexible working does exist.  Whether this be via employment opportunities, party planning, direct sales a franchise or starting up your own business from scratch there are options out there for you.  Being my own boss allows me the freedom as a mum I desire.”

Sponsor Louise Gibbs from Farnborough said, “I am delighted to be able to support the recruitment fair, I was a full time working mum this time last year and took the plunge to start my own business. The best decision I have ever made, I now have a successful business around my family. Baby Signing Mummy is delighted to support family friendly working”

100 goody bags available for the first 100 attendees from 5:30pm at the Wessex Hotel Bournemouth this event is free to attend. For more information see www.networkingmummies.com or contact Joanne on 0844 3579451

Networking Mummies is run by duo Joanne Dewberry (www.charliemoos.co.uk) and Laura Morris (www.rentabuggy.co.uk) who noticed a gap in the local area for business support for mums.     Since the group began in February 2009 they have grown to in excess of 500 members not only mothers but also fathers and small business owners in general over 3 branches now Dorset, Hampshire and Warwickshire, 2011 sees the launch of the long awaited Franchise Plan and thus more branches will be popping up across the UK.  The Recruitment Fair is brainchild of Joanne Dewberry, Dorset Business Mum of the Year, who believes this kind of event is exactly what Dorset Mums and Dads are looking for.

We are also going to be on BBC Radio Solent on the 10th of Jan at 1:30pm and Forest FM on the 18th of Jan at 2:20pm.

 Thursday September 2,2010

By Interviews by Sophie Donnelly and Joanne Della-Ragione  GAIL REYNOLDS, 39, is a senior executive sales leader for Avon, earning more than £4.4 million for the company this year alone. She lives in Dorset with her husband Brian, 40, and their three children Ashleigh, 20, Libby, 13, and Rosie, five  I joined Avon in 2002 but I didn’t set out to make millions of pounds for the company and live a lavish lifestyle. The truth is I was lonely and wanted to make new friends. When my husband’s grandad fell ill, Brian and I moved from Weymouth to Hastings with Ashleigh and Libby to take care of him.  I was a trained accountant and freelanced for a local business but after three months I felt isolated because I didn’t have any friends in the area.

I designed a booklet called The Little Book Of Big Ideas for my team. It shows them how to find customers, how to serve them properly and how to make the most of a customer’s connections. For example if they know one customer is going to the gym or on a girlie weekend they know to give her a few extra brochures to hand out. I also host Avon parties. As the catalogue features over 50,000 products I create a theme, such as make-up or lingerie. Last year I made £113,000 in commission and during my last three-week period I personally earnt £7,920.
